Indian Railway Reservation Enquiry – To Know All about Seat Availability in Trains

Whenever you plan a train journey, you have to make a reservation so that you can travel in comfort, without any tension or running behind the TTE to get a reserved seat. Indian Railway reservation enquiry is possible online on the websites of Indian Railways and IRCTC, by calling at the toll-free numbers of the call centers, through travel agents, at the booking counters in the railway station and on mobile phones. However, the online method is the most preferred mode by the majority of people as it is easy and quick.
When you reserve tickets with Indian Railways, you have to fill in all details in the reservation form like the names of the passengers, age, sex, and berth choice. You also have the option to choose a berth of your choice like the upper berth, side seat, window seat or the lower berth. It will be allotted to you if it is available. If children below 5 years are traveling with you, they need not have a ticket. But you have to mention their names, age and sex in the form.
If all the seats are booked, you will get tickets in RAC or Waiting List. Here you will be allotted berths only if any cancellations take place. If you are in RAC, you will get a seat to travel and you can travel in reserved coaches. Passengers in Waiting List cannot travel in reserved coaches. However, they can travel in unreserved coaches.
So, Indian Railway reservation enquiry is a must to check the seat availability before one books a train ticket.
